During the launch of its new multimedia mobiles in the Indian market, Karbonn Mobiles said that it is aiming to invest around Rs 100 crore in the current financial year.
Moreover, the company anticipates gaining 7-10 percent market share in the multimedia handset zone in India.
Karbonn Mobiles is a joint venture between Delhi-based Jaina groups and UTL.
Talking to reporters, MD of Jaina Group, Mr. Pradeep Jain said, “We will invest Rs 100 crore in the current fiscal for operations, functions and sales. We also plan to capture a market share of 7
-10 per cent in India in the multimedia phone segment by expanding our portfolio of products.”
The company is just six months old in India and till now, it has invested $5 million for product development and sales operations. The company has launched two new handsets in the price range of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
“Going forward, we plan to launch 3-4 new handsets every quarter in various segments like multimedia, touch screens and dual SIMs,” Mr. Jain added,
The company targets a revenue of Rs 1000 crore by the end of March 2010.
